sew over it london 1940s floral dress

Branched out of my comfort zone and picked up this beautiful silky print from Joanns. We all know how difficult prints can be, and I am very picky when it comes to them. Unfortunately I can't seem to find it on their site. This Sew Over It 1940's Tea Dress is very similar to the RĂ©alisation dresses that I have been lusting over for sometime. There are a few changes that need to occur to make those dreams come true.

1. Omit sleeve cuff and make shorter
2. Hem the dress much shorter
3. Modify the neckline to be sexier

I didn't mess around with the neckline since it was the first time making this dress. I have already sewn up a pink version that I made a bit smaller. I think it's worth noting that this dress pattern seems to run bigger than expected. I first made a size 10 and took the sides in a bit. In my second version I cut the size 8 and it was still too big in the bodice. I tend to have a smaller ribcage but I rarely cut the smallest size available in a sewing pattern. At a whopping 52 pages long, I recommend getting this one printed or just buying the already printed version.
