This coat from Zara was a gift from my parents and I haven't taken it off since I got it. The color of it is absolutely gorgeous and the shape is a classic one that you just can't beat. It pairs pretty well with everything in my closet. Been flushing out some DIY idea and sewing projects that I'm excited to share!

The big 2-0. Consider this my birthday suit (oh my). I love the hem & the two pleats at the top of this shirt...great spin on a basic blouse! I got lucky enough to have great weather and cancelled class on my birthday. Now I'm off for some piano and sewing. Catch you all later!

After long lusting after some insane bright colored pants I decided upon this pair. It may have been the fact that they were on sale, but I'm glad I finally have them. I was expecting them to be a bit brighter and defiantly wasn't expecting the material, which is almost wool like. Being one who usually doesn't wear such bright colors or prints, I decided to pair it with a white sweater. I think this may have started a crazy tailor pant obsession.

Today I went with my sister to check out the new Brandy Melville store which opened next to the Urban Outfitters in Mission Beach. The store is cutely decorated with clear jars and fake flowers with some fuji film instax photos mixed about. I have never been to one of their stores, although I did just notice the sweater in the last post is made by them...

Took a trip to Micheals craft store to buy some supplies to make a cuff inspired by that Dannijo (below!) that was unsuccessful. That store can be overpriced sometimes. I did buy some chain and other materials to make some other bracelets that I will share tomorrow!

Ventured downtown to eat at this cute cafe called Brickyard Coffee & Tea only for it to be closed. Check it out if you are ever down in that area (its on West G St.) just be there before 2pm! I'm a sucker for a good panini & coffee.

thin layers

The sun was out and shining today, but I was able to pull this outfit off due to thin layers. This poncho from Romwe was perfect in the shade (thanks, romwe!). I can't wait for a cooler day where I can really layer this thing up. I was attracted to it because of the collar. To me, collars are one of those details on clothing that can really pull me in. I of course paired it with my leather skinnies...I should give these guys a beak. In other personal news, after four years without a piano teacher, I'm going back to classes! Any good recommendations of what songs I should learn? I need to branch out from video game theme songs....

late is better than never

Sporting these Kasil pants in this San Diego heat in the winter time. Pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they are in heat. In other news, I came up with my new years resolutions about five days late, but I guess late is better than never? Of course this includes more of a 'healthy' lifestyle but more importantly some blogging goals. Mainly, a new blog layout has been on my mind and I've been toying around with some ideas, along with those DIY projects I have that I don't always get around to. But I've got a year to do so, right?
