WHAT I MADE: KNOW ME PATTERN 2057 PATTERN HACK

Alissah Threads Know Me Patterns ME2057

Hurry... someone take me apple picking! All jokes aside, I decided that it was time to create a quilted vest. I've never quilted anything before... what's interesting is that when people hear you sew, they mostly immediately assume quilting.  So, it was time to add that to the list of skills. This project was actually a recreation of this $150 vest from Madewell.

The sewing pattern I used for this project is ME2057 by Alissah Threads x Know Me Patterns. I omitted some of the pattern pieces to achieve this look, and also created some matching bias tape to finish off the hem and the sleeve openings.

Tuesday, September 19, 2023

New YouTube alert! I'm kicking off a new series, sewing my way through my dream fall wardrobe. Starting with this statement piece, the beautiful Cozette Dress by Allis Patterns. I used a linen look fabric from Joann's in Potent Purple. Catch the first vlog in the series below!

I Recreated a $900 dress for $50

Tuesday, June 13, 2023

Did I recreate a $900 dress for $50 and 7 hours of my time? Yes. Yes, I did.

Did I just order more fabric to make a free DIY tutorial for you all? Yes. I most certainly did. Coming soon!

Eyelet Archer Button Up

Thursday, May 4, 2023

I now present to you my 7th version of the Archer Button Up by Grainline Studio. I seriously love this pattern and I've actually already sewn it up an 8th time since creating this blouse. I used an eyelet fabric that I purchased from Kiki Studio on Etsy (out of stock now). I love how it turned out and it's a great layering piece!

My Taylor Swift Eras Tour Outfit: Pink Sequin Dress

taylor swift eras tour sequin dress

Sewing Pattern | Fabric | Boots

Posting on this blog feels a little bit like shouting in an empty room, but I think there are still a few of you around! Anyway, last minute invites to Las Vegas for the Taylor Swift Eras Tour means last minute sewing projects. Originally, I was going to recreate a specific outfit from a music video but ultimately decided to go with Lover era vibes. I ordered these curtains from Amazon because it was the only pink sequin fabric that would come on time. Yes, I made a dress from curtains. The curtains are not solid so you will need a lining fabric!

It was my first time sewing the Marselis dress by The Uncut Project. I didn't follow the instructions and slightly modified the back, but I will be making this dress again in the future! The intended fabric is something much more summer/warm weather friendly, perfect for linen blends. ðŸ’—

The Makeup Bag | These Days Sewing Pattern

Thursday, March 9, 2023

 New pattern alert!

Really, I'm just practicing flexing this... Etsy store muscle! I'm always looking for great ways to use up scraps into something useful. So, The Makeup Bag was born! A new pattern means a new YouTube tutorial. I hope to get to the sew-along for The Party Dress soon here... that video is a bit more of a project but it's coming, I promise!

It's cute... tiny and mighty. Consider this your sustainable makeup bag, especially compared to their plastic counterparts. When this one gets dirty, toss it in the washing machine to refreshen it.
