Self sewn jacket, Forever 21 shirt, Call It Spring heels, Target pants

Rockin' a little J. Lo Oscar inspired bun. Super easy! Make a slick, high ponytail. Divide the ponytail in two four sections. Backcomb each section, and roll each section (as if you were rolling the hair into curlers). Use hair pins to make it stay! You could use some fun hair pins also, like these Chanel Inspired by Honestly WTF. Have fun!

Romwe jacket and purse, Anarchy Street leather pants, Asos shoes

Shearling jackets are just so easy to make you feel like you got dressed up to do nothing.

A.N.A. sweater, Olsenboyle heels, Target pants, Jason Wu for Target purse

Not to beat in the same joke over and over but all I could think of while I was buying this purse was, "She said she was wearing Jason Wu...she was wearing Jason Wu, for Target." Fine by me! A smaller purse forces me to carry less stuff around which is nice because I'm usually packing my whole life into a bag.

sewing project #9: COS inspired dress

Self sewn dress, Call It Spring heels

And here we have the COS inspired dress. I'm pretty excited about it! I wasn't really expecting to find felted wool at my fabric store but they had this red color. I originally planned to do something a little bit more muted but I wanted to try making it in the same fabric of the COS dress. I didn't look very hard for a pattern, and I was eager to get started. Instead of hunting for the right pattern I found this Burdastyle Basic Bodice pattern and cropped it a bit. The skirt was pretty easy, just an a-line skirt. An easy google search taught me how to make those. Since the skirt on the dress starts pretty high up I figured I didn't need darts. Turned out pretty well!! I have another fabric that isn't as stiff as this one that I'm super excited to try. Such a rad feeling of being able to look at something and make it.

Forever 21 bracelets, Call It Spring heels, For Love & Lemons Dress

Growing up I thought that being an ice skater was a great idea simply because of the cute dresses they wear. Today, I can't ice skate or roller blade for that matter, but I get as close as I can with dresses. This pretty little thing came in the mail yesterday and I couldn't be more thrilled! It's perfectly girly but the mesh gives it some edge. I actually had the chance to meet Laura, part of For Love & Lemons the other day. Sometimes life has a interesting way of putting you in contact with people. So nice to meet you, Laura!

Blouse from Zara, Sam Edelman boots, Chicwish skirt, Charles Albert ring

Being able to wear skirts like this year round makes me feel pretty lucky. Paired it with a blouse from Zara that I'm having trouble naming the color. A google search has me leaning towards "Phthalocyanine Green" or the more simply named "Pine Green". Regardless of what color it is, its gorgeous. Phthalocyanine sounds cooler though! Anyways, I can't wait to finish the dress that I showed you a little preview of. All I have left to do is hem it! Hopefully I'll be showing you soon.

Charles Albert ring, Romwe shirt, Anarchy Street leather pants, Forever 21 heels, Topshop necklace

All black outfits are one of my favorite ways to go. When I wear all black I try to play with texture as much as possible. I've got leather, mesh, and t-shirt material all in one! Hehe...anyways, I'm wearing another fun spring lip color from MAC called Vegas Volt. Can tell I'll be wearing this all the time.

sewing progress

If you follow me on twitter or tumblr (and yes, I use instagram hehe) I try to post little photos or whatever projects I'm working on. Above are two "behind the scenes" photos of what I'm currently working on. I'm on a bit of a success high at the moment because my muslin version actually worked, even though you may think it looks slightly like a pillowcase.

Forever 21 hat

Not a full outfit post due to a pretty basic outfit. The hat and the lipstick is what made my outfit anyways. I'm not one to buy expensive makeup (cvs stores is my usual stop) but I couldn't get this MAC lipstick out of my head. Little things like this lipstick and hat can add a lot!
