self sewn faux leopard jacket

ASOS dress, random heels, self sewn jacket
Okay lets be real...this jacket is 100% better than my last one. Not only is the quality of the faux fur better but I lined this beauty and added an inside pocket, ya I'm fancy. My last leopard jacket took me about 6 hours to make (although it did have more detail) and this one took me 3 hours.

I've sewn with this BurdaStyle pattern before and I love it. It's so simple and straight forward. You can see the other jacket here. Only made a few changes to the pattern. I cropped it because I didn't want to be swallowed whole in leopard, and I added a pocket on the inside of the lining. The fabric was purchased from Fabric.com

Typically I buy fabric in the store but the stores in my area didn't have anything that was of high quality. I ordered samples from Fabric.com which came quickly and were great, but when my 1.5 yards of faux leopard came there was a massive misprint. Thankfully it was just enough to make the jacket, but if the misprint line would have been just a bit higher I would have needed a whole new order. Just food for thought. I suppose that's the downside to ordering online? I would still take a chance and order from them again though (I believe in second chances). Anyways, I recommend this pattern if you are looking for a jacket to mix up your wardrobe.
