Blue Marble Fabric | Spoonflower

I can't believe I'm saying this but... I designed my own fabric! No, I haven't struck a deal with a fabric mill. But with Spoonflower, I didn't need to. This isn't a partnership or sponsored post, but rather just me sharing my experience.

Sewing is more than just a hobby for me. While I'm not one to be obsessed with a side hustle I'd be lying if I said I didn't ever dream about it being my career somehow/someway. But I also don't intend on leaving real estate anytime soon either. So what better way to dip my toes in the water by trying something fun and different?

While I don't consider myself an artist or a graphic designer, I do know my way around photoshop. I've long considered trying out uploading my own designs on Spoonflower and decided to just try it.

The results? SO. FUN! These swirly/colorful patterns are trending so I figured "why can't I make one"? I have three videos for you to check out:

As you can see in my videos – I made the Swim Style Celeste swim bottoms and drafted my own one shoulder top. What I love about Spoonflowers Sport Lyrca is the thickness. I've used it a few times before and each time the print has held up well in the wash and in the pool. I don't go in the ocean so I can't confirm how well it works in saltwater. But if it does fine in chlorine... I can only assume it would be okay!

As always, let me know if you have any questions on doing this yourself, and I'd be happy to point you in the right direction.
