(DIY lace pants, H&M shirt, Sam Edelman boots, ph. by Renatta)

Wow. I can't believe this actually worked! This really just happened on a whim. Went out the other night, and a friend brought a friend, who happened to be wearing the lace bell bottoms from bonadrag.com. I had seen the pants before (fashiontoast, obvs) but in person they were just too awesome. So I went to the fabric store, bought a ton of lace, and some booty shorts (oh yes!). Traced some flared jeans onto the lace, cut, sew, and there you go! I'm super proud of them...comfy too! Just so you know, I tested the dance-ability of these pants, and let me tell you...golden.
Expect the next post to have these pants...need to test them in the day light!

The progress on my cape! Still have to add another panel, buttons, and the collar. After that, just have to hem it!

stitches

Did I ever show you the headband I knitted?! I was super proud of it (hehe)...my second knitted piece! It was really easy, just cast on 13 stitches, continue to knit to the width of your head, and bind off. Then cast on again (for the bow), doesn't matter how much, just more than 13 stitches so its thicker than the size of the band. To make the bow simple to knit, instead of adding/dropping stitches, I just tied some yarn around the middle to pinch it. Ta-da! That's it! I look around ASOS, Forever 21, and Urban Outfitters for knit headbands and scarfs that I can easily make. You should too!

(F21 shorts, DIY Vest, ph. by Brooke)

I started my sewing class last Saturday which has left me wanting to make anything I can possibly think of (purses, more coats, dresses). Next week I will finally begin sewing that cape I cut out a few weeks ago! Super excited...I'll have to keep you posted on that project. I drove around with my sister to three different fabric stores and was really disappointed with the lack of faux fur ( I really wanted to make my sister this one coat...) Anyways, I think I will have to resort to online? We shall see! I grabbed this fabric, which has really short synthetic fur and followed this DIY at ...love Maegan. I love the drape it has, along with how easy it was to make! Now go DIY!

3.1 phillip lim

THE HUNT IS FINALLY OVER!! I have seriously been searching for the perfect blouse for ages. It was most important that the sleeves fell in the most perfect way. I actually saw this photo from The Glamourai (hers is Erin Fetherston) and it triggered an obsession...not to mention that I am still hooked on that necklace. So on a trip to Buffalo Exchange, which as of now I will make more often, I found this 3.1 Phillip Lim blouse for $26. Yes, twenty six dollars!! This will probably be my most favorite purchase for 2011!

(Arden B. Dress, Steve Madden Heels)
Oh 2011, who knows what you will bring. I don't really have any resolutions...I think I'm just going to try and make this year a good year!

Anyways, snapped these with my point and shoot... which is why they are blurry. But I kind of like it for some reason. I've had this dress forever but I seriously think its the best NYE dress. I also find it very important to be festive every once in a while...its good for you!
